Reality TV and talk shows have become the bane of Television.  Pretty soon they are going to have to find a new model that bypasses television studios and goes out online or something.  I mean HBO is basically that, but they haven't had any good new shows lately.

Finally got the name of this thing that's been on the tip of my tongue for years.  Mighty Orbots!

Mighty Orbots - The Wish World Part 1

Re: Favorite TV Shows - fyre - 04-25-2009

So I finally got around to watching Commentary: The Musical from Dr. Horrible dvd. It's pretty cool. Correction: I'm currently half-way through and this shit is brilliant.

Also, I really need to catch up on Dollhouse. I think I'm like three episodes behind. Sad

Re: Favorite TV Shows - fyre - 05-11-2009

Finally got around to watching the last four episodes of Dollhouse this past weekend. Pretty great, overall. It sucks that Fox made them put a bunch of shitty episodes at the beginning of the season. I know a lot of people who stopped watching just before it got good. I hope Fox renews it.

Started watching Party Down, with Ken Marino, a bunch of people from the apatow crew and written by Paul Rudd and the guy who did veronica mars.  It's really good, maybe my second favorite comedy from this year behind Eastbound and down.  All of the episodes are on netflix since it airs on starz and they have this weird deal going on.

Seriously? Nice!
Chuck seems at first to be such a half-assed time-slot filler that someone pulled out of their ass to cover a last minute canceled show.
However, they have actually been able to do quite a bit with it. Initially I felt that they did not have enough material to fill the entire 45-minute time slot. Nearing the end of their first 'season' they got their act together.

I'm glad to see that a geeky, fun, and truly enjoyable show has been able to succeed in the cut-throat market of the American TV network.

Re: Favorite TV Shows - fyre - 05-20-2009

Just watched the Glee pilot on Hulu. It was pretty sweet. I love musicals. I thought it was gonna be stupid, but the writing was surprisingly good. I recommend giving it a look. Gonna have to wait till Fall for a full season though. Sad

Re: Favorite TV Shows - Squishy3 - 05-29-2009

I just blazed through both seasons of 30 Rock on Netflix and will catch up on season 3 as soon as I can. It was amazing. I loved the Lemonparty reference they threw in there, although I have no idea if it was intentional or just a really funny coincidence.

Re: Favorite TV Shows - Luinbariel - 05-29-2009

I realized at work today that it's actually quite difficult to adequately explain the idea behind Dollhouse to someone who has no clue what it's like.
