I heard in a review that you can't do a no kill run, that there were sudo-boss fights that forced you to kill your targets.

Like in the first one, i think you had to kill Anna at some point, right? either her or the NSF leader i thought

Yeah the Pacifist achievement doesn't apply to bosses. That said, building a character up for stealth/small firefights only to get someone with a minigun arm thrown at you is kind of a dick move.

I just stole a rocket launcher from the previous mission where you have to turn off the satellite transmission, and 4 rockets were enough to kill the boss.  Also
technically he blows himself up at the end of the fight so you don't really kill him.
So far I've gotten no kills.

Load to a previous save before you got that aug?
It was the third time I used the aug, I'd already quicksaved and autosaved and didn't want to redo over an hour's work. I had to tranq an entire gang from a rooftop just to get into the building, then had it screwed up by a guard who walked into the wrong place at the wrong time. I was planning on Kool-Aiding then nailing him with the Stun Gun or a no-kill Takedown before he could react.

I might still go back and redo it, I dunno. I think the icarus probably would've been a better choice than the wall-punch thing, since it's got a stun move.

Re-do it.

Also, invisibility is a good investment.

Just got pass the big server room in Tai Yong Medical where all the lasers are everywhere. Not only is this level already bad-ass, but I go into this room, jump around between the lasers like a goddamn BAD ASS, find a vent, sneak into the security terminal area, tranq the desk guard and do a doulbe take down on the two security guards in there before shutting off the whole laser and security system in this tighly controlled sterile room.

I then proceeed to walk into the center of said server room and walk twoards the exit like a total BAD ASS MOTHER FUCKER

Probably my favorite part of the game so far.

I'm in the same boat. The problem is there are paths that you have to punch through walls and snap necks to get to. I don't think I'm anal enough to redo everything and find new paths just to have a completely no-kill play-through.

Re: Deus-Ex 3 Info and Discussion thread. - backfire - 08-27-2011

I pretty much gave up on ghosting/not killing things now. My loadout has a pistol, sniper rifle, tranq and stun gun. If I ever get into a situation where I need to mow down people, I just pick up a gun off one of the corpses.

... or just quickload...

I haven't played DXHR yet, but this was pretty much my load out for the first deus ex for the past 10 years.

Please tell me there is a good equivalent of the dragon's tooth sword.  This plus speed equaled my entire endgame

I got super excited when I saw a powersaw lying on a crate.  And then I walked up to it and saw that it can't be picked up.  :'(

Re: Deus-Ex 3 Info and Discussion thread. - HeK - 08-27-2011

I spent the last 12 hours playing along side Rilnac.
He killed everyone (non-quest/shop related) in Detroit, and individually sold each gun (picking up two converts the second to ammo).
He now has more credits then god.

He is now in China, killing everyone and stuffing all the bodies into a single apartment, along with all the refrigerators.

Re: Deus-Ex 3 Info and Discussion thread. - backfire - 08-27-2011

Okay this game's making me lose sleep. Last couple nights, the only reason I stopped playing was because I was too tired to make rational decisions anymore. :-\

For sanity's sake, I think I'm almost near the end.

Edit
Oh god I just found out you can kill people and still get ghost. I went through the entire first level (non-prologue) along with at least three other areas without making a single confrontation. I've been making this game waaay too hard on myself Sad

Did you tell him it's pretty pointless to make more than 10000 credits per mission hub?
