So they could update at 3pm, which is a pretty reasonable time until you realize that's like midnight in UTC. Re: Heavy Updates...
As you can see I highlighted the key statement there and added extra emphasis to the most important word - Arena. We don't know what the arena is yet, it could be a portion of the map or it could be the entire map. If it is the whole map then yes it would just be like sudden death, but if it is just a portion of the map then it would be pretty awesome as well. Also if it was a portion of the map Geoff's RPS map would be a fucking amazing arena map. Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - ToiletDuck - 08-19-2008 also... 5v5 your west CAL-O ar_any, pm me! Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - CaffeinePowered - 08-19-2008 Arena is going to suck, they claim 5 maps...bullshit, they made 2 and "reworked" 3 others. You know why a lot of servers either turn off sudden death or have stuff like melee only sudden death? Cause no one wants to fight, and thats exactly what this is going to be. Re: Heavy Updates... It's a refreshing change in tactics and I'm looking forward to the new mode. Re: Heavy Updates... For example in the "arena" well the first team to either kill all of the opposing team or to capture the center point wins. The only way an engineer is going to be useful is if its like Loqutus playing, and even then in a competitive environment you aren't going to get that gun up likely. Sniper and Spy will be huge due to the one hit kill, and since most maps dont have med-packs that puts increased emphasis on medics and pyros. Some people will like it, but don't expect to see it on #1 much, maybe if duck likes it he might toss it on #2 sometimes. The other problem is this seems like a game mode that begs to be no-crit, but they will still delist servers for doing that. Re: Heavy Updates...
No one, ever uses the custom tab and they never ever will. Thats why server ops put like 'Customs' 'No Crits' 'Instant Spawn' in the server title, those are your 'tags' right there. Operators constantly bitch at valve for doing it over the Dedicated server emailers. You're also failing to see the big picture, a community is only as fresh as the people that join it, if you languish on the customs tab its going to be the same group of people playing all the time, you get new people by have those randoms join up, a lot of people here at one point were 'randoms' who had a good time and decided to stay, so its vital that the server be visible to all players, no matter what game mode/type is being played Re: Heavy Updates...
