It turns the soldier into a single trick pony, who's sole purpose is to act as ranged bombardment against targets. Which is what a gunboat is. b) Re: Updates of the Week (ongoing discussion) - Duck, Duck, Goose - 08-09-2010 Gunboats need an overhaul. Should be melee slot, kicking attack that does 60% melee damage but crits stun/something (kick to the balls). Should also take away health. Because seriously, Gunboats are useless to good Sollys atm because the Shotgun rapes. In fact, the Gunboats make you only have 3 rockets and nothing else to attack with when they're actually used in combat. I'd rather just rocket jump normally and still have my 6 shells left to kill things with. How many times have I raged an entire team as Pyro by just popping tele's and then harassing people going from spawn to front lines for 5 minutes? Gunboats let sollys do that, but r-jumping away is much more efficient than me having to use airblast + a corner to get away. Rocket kicking actually doesn't sound like a bad idea for the soldier, he is a psychopath. However, I think the Soldier shouldn't be able to do it all the time, and certainly not when he has his rocket launcher out.
