need new gaming pc - Valentine Wiggin - 06-07-2009 would appreciate any help, i am "special" when it comes to this stuff Re: need new gaming pc - CaffeinePowered - 06-07-2009 Whats your budget? Once you let us know your budget, what all do you need to buy? ie. Do you need a new speaker system, keyboard/mouse, hard drives, case, monitor? You usually can recycle at least a few parts from an old box if you are going to cannibalize it Re: need new gaming pc - Mr. Face - 06-07-2009 Maybe you should give us more detail on what you want, we cant really give you much with that teeny bit Re: need new gaming pc - Valentine Wiggin - 06-07-2009 i really don't want to spend more than $2500 and would like to start fresh with a whole new system Re: need new gaming pc - Blues - 06-07-2009 While I wouldn't normally suggest it, if you have this much money to blow, build an i7 machine. I'll work up a cart later tonight. Re: need new gaming pc - Sponson - 06-07-2009 A proppa gaming rig costs like 600 at most. Re: need new gaming pc - Mr. Face - 06-07-2009 honestly my PC is pretty good. It's vista (DONT GET THAT) with 2 GB (ALSO NOT RECOMMENDED), the graphics card is te shit (RECOMMENDED <3), but ierno what else Re: need new gaming pc - Wedge - 06-07-2009 Lololol, just because she thinks they cost that much doesn't mean she needs to spend that much. I guess you can make a killer beast machine that costs half that for fun though. This too, most good gaming PCs shouldn't cost more than 1000 3000+ - Splurging on unnecessary things 2000 - 3000 - Bleeding Edge 1000 - 2000 - Mostly all New Stuff 700 - 1000 - Usually very solid 600 and Lower - Budget * Numbers may vary highly from person to person Re: need new gaming pc - cbre88x - 06-07-2009 (06-07-2009, 09:44 PM)Caffeine link Wrote: 700 - 1000 - Usually very solid Yea I built a rough draft rig on newegg last night..without PSU and CPU. Went up to around $630. Tho, when I actually go to build this rig the parts will all be obsolete so I'm probably going to do another draft closer to fall (when I'm going to build a new rig for myself..my own birthday present..joy). Anyways, I'm looking into motherboards that support 8G-16G RAM. I'm debating on going to DDR3 though..not sure if it's worth it yet. [/quote] id go for ddr3 before i go for 16 gigs of ram. you only need that if you running a server. Re: need new gaming pc - Wedge - 06-07-2009 Even DDR3 is pretty much dirt cheap now, no reason not too really. It's just looking forward. I want 8G to start with. And when I'm done with that build I can install some more RAM to have a full 16 or a little less and use it as a server. My faux-Dell rig right now only supports 4 gigs :-[ Re: need new gaming pc - Blues - 06-07-2009 It's not like you need more than 4GB right now. By the time you utilize 8 they'll have changed standards again, look at how fast we went from DDR2 to DDR3. Gotta agree with Zane, definitely go with DDR3 before you worry about 8-16GB of RAM. Also she was talking about a prebuilt, which would be a good explanation as to the 2500 limit. Re: need new gaming pc - Valentine Wiggin - 06-07-2009 when i get one i'm probably gonna have pokeman build it for me :-* Re: need new gaming pc - Blues - 06-07-2009 I'm not a Pokemon I'm a Blue(s). If I do I'm putting a bomb in it. Re: need new gaming pc - Valentine Wiggin - 06-07-2009 i thought we agreed on no bombs Re: need new gaming pc - Blues - 06-07-2009 No anthrax, possibly bombs. |
