Project Natal - Benito Mussolini - 06-11-2009 This thing looks absolutely awesome. A shame it's made for Xbox... But it still looks awesome. Here's a little video that shows how awesome it is: "This wasn't acted" Now here's a video that shows how much it wants to be like the Wii: "Yay! Familiy fun!" And this is why it'll probably beat the Wii's wiimote: Nintendo's latest gadget -the Wii Balance Board, and the WiiFit game- has been out for a whole year (in the US... even more in Japan). WiiFit became the fifth best selling videogame in history (check link for source...WIKI!). With 18.22 million copies sold as of March 31 2009 (same source), what game that uses the Wii Balance Board has been released? Let's see... At least, Nintendo can save its own ass with Punch-Out!!. They're also lucky that the French are there to help a bit with some crazy rabbids. Now, obviously, Microsoft's marketing will be way ahead. It was Peter Molyneux in them videos up here. The man behind Fable and Black & White (who is the tenth best game creator, according to the GameTrailers website) will be working on that new gadget from Microsoft. Better than those Electronic Arts didiots and their game that is almost the exact same thing as WiiFit... Re: Project Natal - [fr31ns]Karrde - 06-11-2009 That better not have been scripted. I'm not so worried about games being made with this, but that the technology itself is kinda bogus. Re: Project Natal - ZargonX - 06-11-2009 I had some thoughts about this last week /selfpimp Re: Project Natal - HeK - 06-11-2009 Re: Project Natal - Versus - 06-11-2009 "Dan Hsu on Bitmod noticed that when game consultant and former Newsweek writer N'Gai Croal gave Paradise a test drive, however, the game had trouble reading his steering actions. While it could read his feet, which were covered in shoes, Project Natal would not let him steer the car. However there was no problem when another driver was at the wheel. True, Croal does have dreadlocks but if that was a problem someone with long hair would also send Natal into a spin. Apparently it might be a problem with the near-infrared spectroscopy, which has a problem detecting darker skinned individuals." "The NIRS device failed to register tissue saturation values at some point in nine of seventeen volunteers. It seems that when it is used in hospitals patients with a dark pigmented skin, NIRS StO2 measurements should be interpreted with caution, as melanin clearly interferes with the quality of the reflected NIRS signal. It could mean that black people have to play with their Xbox with gloves and a paper bag on their heads." Re: Project Natal - KarthXLR - 06-11-2009 This looks like an atrocious waste of money to me. On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, someone from Microsoft came to show off their 3D Breakout game along with a quick port of Burnout Paradise. I gotta say, even though you can see the tracking glitch every now and again, I'm pretty impressed. Hopefully this thing doesn't cost a fortune or be showered with crappy half-though mini-games or low budget titles. Came across this article on IGN. The thing with Mass Effect could be pretty cool if they implemented it correctly. Re: Project Natal - Squishy3 - 06-11-2009 Also the fact you can scan your face into your 360 profile if you have multiple ones and it'll scan you whenever you turn on the 360 and log into the according profile is pretty cool. Hands-free dashboard navigation is awesome too. But seriously, talking to this kid = boredom. Sure, it looks cool, but can you imagine how boring it would be? |
