headset problems - Wyrmidon - 06-16-2009

So a day or two ago, I got a headset. The first day it worked with no problems. The next day when the autorun message popped up i hit don't show the message again. Since then the microphone has not worked. Does anyone know how to I can get it to work?

If it makes a difference, I have a Dynex stereo headset with removable boom microphone.

I don't understand why you would need to deal with an "autorun" message to get a headset to work, even a USB set.  I could be wrong.

Have you checked the volume for Microphone under Recording Devices yet to make sure he's still the audio source Windows will listen to?  Does it have a "Mic Boost" you can turn on?

I'm pretty sure i don't need the autorun, but that is when the problems started. So i figured I'd put that part in because i am not very good with computers.

In the recording devices it says that "microphone/line in" is working. Also, it does have a mic boost.

had you seen the autorun previous to installing the new headphones?

what did you select before you checked 'do not show again'?

yes i have seen the autorun message before, and i clicked microphone before "do not show again".
