my pc kicked the bucket today - Valentine Wiggin - 06-18-2009

the service tech dude said none of my files could be recovered and i didn't have them backed up because i'm a retard D: like half my life was on that computer.  i got mad and went and bought a new one D: cuz i can't live without a computer and i'm on vacation next week

yeah i'm computer rere so i wouldn't know if he was right or not.  and i'm not telling what i bought cuz you will all make fun of me.  basically i went to the store and told them i needed a computer to play games on and bought it.  did the same type of thing when i bought a new car earlier this year D:

This is why I love living in a tech house and having techie friends.
If I don't know how to fix it, they do.
If I do something stupid to my computer, they tell me I'm stupid and then help me fix it.

yeah i had planned on buying one from someone here but there was no way i was going to be computerless while on vacation next week.

Did he even try? I mean, if you didn't toss the hardware someone here might be able to recover the data for you. Also, what kind of computer was it originally?

In fact, if the platters are intact, I actually know of a guy who works for the NSA doing data recovery that moonlights doing it for normal people.
