Reformatting: The WinXP and Win7 Blues(not the user :O!) - Star Knight - 06-29-2009 Well, XP has started to bluescreen for no apparent reason. Also i thought Win7 32-bit could read my 4GB ram, it 'sees' what XP 'sees' unfortunately. Reformatting is easy, but i absolutely hate backuping. I lost files from my transition from my emachine to my February '09 build. > Thank god i havent put anything on Win7, yet. Reinstalling my Steam games and mods will suck. Hopefully i can have atleast TF2 running by TFT. I let someone borrow my XP SP3 so i had to make a brand new disc.. If you get that, then you're all set for 4gigs and beyond. Re: Reformatting: The WinXP and Win7 Blues(not the user :O!) - Blues - 06-29-2009 WHAT DO YOU WA... oh. Carry on then. Dualboot XP and Win7. If you dont have a second drive, you partition your HD if youve got the space. Copy paste the steam folder to a drive, launch, enjoy. Re: Reformatting: The WinXP and Win7 Blues(not the user :O!) - Blues - 06-30-2009 Yeah forgot about that. It'll do a quick update and everything will work as if it had been installed that day. Re: Reformatting: The WinXP and Win7 Blues(not the user :O!) - Star Knight - 06-30-2009 Finally got all the XP updates installed, now to games, programs and modding tools(yay!) Re: Reformatting: The WinXP and Win7 Blues(not the user :O!) - Blues - 06-30-2009 Protip: Closing explorer.exe and running it again is passable for half of the programs that ask you to do a reboot to load them fully.
