I need 4 images inked as a personal favor - Surf314 - 08-31-2009
A good friend of mine is an amazing artist but sticks mostly to sketching. I told him I could ink some pictures for him for my wife to use in a no-budget Marvel event for the kids at her library. After I saw the pictures I realized this was way out of my league as it is amazing work with very good shading. Would any of you artists be willing to ink and color these for free. I know it's probably asking for a lot but they are very nice sketches and its to get kids hooked on reading and comics.
I won't post them here because I don't really think it is my place to distribute my friend's work. But if you are interested I will PM you a link to all the sketches. Thanks in advance.

You can't really "ink" shading very well at all, unless you want it to have a very comic-book feel to it or fake-ink it using photoshop. Inking AFAIK is mostly done only for outline sketches.
I suppose though the coloring step would cover that thoughÂ

Yea, that's why I don't think I can do it. The image relies heavily on fine brush strokes and shading, I really don't know how to do that yet and it would take me too long to figure out. I wonder if I can talk sponson into doing it since he is amazing with this kind of stuff.

This is where I step in and say I'd do it, but then if I actually can't finish 4 full comic pages for free then it'll be a huge let down and I don't want to do that.
Fuck I couldn't even finish the commissions I set about doing a few months ago.
Also: I'm still trying to climb past this artist block I've been having for a bit now.
PM a page and I'll get back to you to see if I think I can do 4.

Covers a very old version of photoshop but the technique should still work.
