This is a video that is not lulz, it's not neat. It's just sad. I couldn't even sit thew the whole thing. It represents everything that's wrong with peoples perception of the furry fandom, due to that fact that any time someone gets on T.V. to talk about it they make it out a sexual act (fuck Tyra was pretty much MOCKING THEM and I don't really blame her). This is in fact such a terrible representation of furries that the people whom appeared on the show have since been BANNED from Furaffinity for bringing shame to the fandom.

This has been a public service announcement, thank you for listening.

I just hate the fact they reinforced a beaten to death stereotype. Instead of having any actual brake threws with someone normal going on television and being like "Nah I don't use fursuits and don't find anthros particular attractive, I like the fandom for [good reason] and [good reason]", all you get is this BULL SHIT of people who want to continue to reinforce old hat steryotypes and make the rest of the fandom look like animal suit fucking douche bags with "strategically placed holes".

It's not what the "mass" thinks about me, it's the ass holes who go on live T.V. and reinforce terrible stereotypes.

I honestly didn't see anything insulting about that at all... people think its weird... because its NOT NORMAL... plain and simple.. If a very small percentage of people know about something, you cant expect the common populus to not think it's a bit odd, merely because they've never heard of it. 

granted the reason it got brought up (with other sex groups) isn't great, but it IS another thing that people do...  I wouldnt get too worked up about it, and the fact that they've been banned from furry events is distubing to me.  If you want "better press" you can't be so exclusive.  when people enjoy it - let them enjoy it instead of being all uppity about your own private culture.  you sound just like the hipsters and scene kids that know way more about music than anyone else.. instead of just enjoying it with other people that enjoy it.

There was an episode of CSI:Vegas that had furries in it. iirc one of them got sick, pulled over, and while he was throwing up (still in his coyote outfit), a rancher "mistook" him for a real coyote. He got shot, rancher got off scott-free. Maybe it's not realistic, but it sells. Just let it go, methinks

The CSI bull shit and the MTV bull shit are well known and notorious threw out the fandom because they are (were) the general populous only exposure to furry. The reason this pisses so many people off is because the more and more exposure to this side of the fandom that gets shown to people the more people think furry is a "sex" thing when it's really not. It's why anytime you tell someone your a furry you get one of two reactions: "Oh you fuck dogs thats sick" and "So you attracted to mascot costumes?" and no matter how much you try to pound it into peoples brains (fuck you Nex) they will continue to think it's like saying your gay and ignore the fact it's NOT a sex thing.  :Smile
