Fuck copying it all over. Anyone got any thoughts on this? It's on my to-do list after paying down my credit card and moving out, which will hopefully be soon. I've got a monitor, mouse, and keyboard already, but I would wanna get a second monitor just for awesomeness. And I've got a matching GPU to SLI with if that's compatible with what I have.

Here is his cart. I wouldn't bother with the hd cooler. I've used that same one and being that your case has a fan right in from of the hdd mounts you won't see any difference. Also, what's with the three different hard drives? And for the memory card reader, why not get one that mounts in a 5.25" bay?

3 HDs for Windows, Games, and misc (music, pictures, NOT torrents, porn, etc). And I figured the cooler was extraneous. And the external one would be so I have something to use with my netbook too if need be. Tho it's main purpose would be for SD cards, like my camera, and my netbook has SD card slots, so...

If you are getting an intel you might want to consider shelling out for an i7

Re: Computer build setup - copulatingduck - 10-05-2009

a few things:

why use ide drives at all exactly?

do you really have so many games and media that you need 1.75TB (not including OS)? Really? I mean seriously?

I don't think dual-9800's would outperform a 260 (at least in 3dmark gtx260 trounces dual 9800gtx+'s), you should look into that some more before you decide to settle on SLI.

Are you sure you don't want i7?

Motherboard is currently out of stock...

imo it looks like you're spending a premium on what amounts to a ton of unnecessary and very old parts. You're just setting yourself up to be disappointed and replacing a processor/motherboard combo a couple months down the road, and then a GPU a little further.

Re: Computer build setup - Spore - 10-05-2009

Wait till holidays, buy 5850 for $230, enjoy unnecessary amounts of power.

Edit: Yeah, go i7 too.

Re: Computer build setup - Luca Shoal - 10-05-2009

I'm not building this anytime soon guys :3. I'm still jobless for one thing.

I'll come to you Duck, or Caff, when I actually get to that point.

Oh, well then definately save up for an i7 and 5800 or maybe GTX300 card (not comin' for awhile).

Yeah just let someone set it up for you, that thing is a mess.  You somehow managed to put together a computer mostly consisting of 2-year old parts and still make it expensive.  If you're looking into $1000+ range, someone should be able to put something real nice together.  But that's all way in the futchaaaaaah anyways.
