EMERGENCY MOVIE SUGGESTIONS! - KorJax - 10-22-2009

Quick I need a movie to download.  I'm going to be dropping my mother off to the hospital in the morning for planned surgery and then my grandmother, but she CONVENIENTLY leaves out till the last minute (typical) that I'd have to stay in the waiting room for ~3-4 hours as her surgery doesn't actually start until later in the morning. I also apparently can't leave my grandmother there (says that she's not allowed to drive) which means I'll be basically sitting in a room for a very long fucking time with nothing to do.

Halp!

I thought about downloading Pan's Labyrinth but then I soon found out that the only versions that exsist out there are subtitled spanish versions, which just won't do.

The last movie I saw was District 9, and I usually only see a movie once a year so I really need you guy's help with suggestions and fast Sad

So, you want a recommendation for a download, yes?  Waking Life, Blade Runner, Fight Club, The Big Lewboski, Burn After Reading, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Departed, The Godfather, Ghost in the Shell, Serenity, or Burn After Reading.

Re: EMERGENCY MOVIE SUGGESTIONS! - Benito Mussolini - 10-22-2009

You have a laptop? Play Diablo until your eyes bleed.

Re: EMERGENCY MOVIE SUGGESTIONS! - KorJax - 10-22-2009

Thanks for the suggestions, ended up going with Fight Club since I haven't seen it through yet Smile

Also no laptop Sad

I was going to try LoTR: Return of the King considering I've never seen it and only saw the first 2, but the only torrents I could find of it were of the extended edition, which is a huge-ass file and a 4 fucking hour long movie.

Re: EMERGENCY MOVIE SUGGESTIONS! - copulatingduck - 10-22-2009

where are you gonna watch the movie then? ipod? of do they allow you to bring movies into the waiting room?

Re: EMERGENCY MOVIE SUGGESTIONS! - KorJax - 10-22-2009

Gonna watch my on my ZuneHD.

Re: EMERGENCY MOVIE SUGGESTIONS! - HeK - 10-22-2009

Load up the Zune with music, swing by a book store and nab one of the suggestions from the book thread.
I suggest Neuromancer or The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Contact.  What, I liked it Tongue  Say what you want, it's a sci-fi flick with a hopeful vision for humanity, and the book was written by Carl Sagan.

Re: EMERGENCY MOVIE SUGGESTIONS! - KorJax - 10-23-2009

Seen contact Smile

And the problem with the book is that I'll never finish it within the time-frame, and then I'll get back set it down forget about it and be bothered that I never finished reading it Sad

Also fightclub is interesting so far, I'm about half-way through the movie (it's longer than I thought).  Not a huge fan of the whole "masochist macho survival" attitude the movie occasionally takes so far (seems kind of played up) but it's still interesting as a whole, one of those movies that puts you in a certain awareness and keenness attitude for me haha.

You have no idea how awkward it is sitting next to your grandmother in the waiting room for a few hours watching it with your big poofy hair that needs cut in a hospital >_>
