Port Forwarding problems. Why Karth needs YOUR HELP. - KarthXLR - 11-13-2009 Ok, so no matter what I do, I can't seem to get my ports to work the way I want them to. I forwarded the correct TCP and UDP ports for Borderlands, Steam service, Half-Life 2, and Half-Life 2 Steam Server. I've doubled-checked, possibly triple, all these ports to make sure they're correct, yet every time someone tries to connect, they'll time out. I've tried everything I know how to do. Even the port checker off of portforward.com says that they're open. I'm running on McAfee's Firewall, Avast! Anti-virus, and the windows firewall is turned off. Re: Port Forwarding problems. Why Karth needs YOUR HELP. - KarthXLR - 11-14-2009 DMZ worked Re: Port Forwarding problems. Why Karth needs YOUR HELP. - Surf314 - 11-14-2009 A DMZ let's everything in though. I will ask again did you set your computer up to have a static IP? Your computer has an internal IP that the router gives it to identify it within the local network. When you open ports you have to open it for a specific internal IP. If you do not have the right internal IP or your computer is set just to be assigned to whatever whenever you log on you will not have open ports on the computer you are using. Why Karth needs YOUR HELP. - KarthXLR - 11-14-2009 I'm sick of messing with firewalls, and I really am fine with what I have right now. My issue is just to find what's blocking my ports. Surf repeatedly tells me to get a static IP, so I might try that. Re: Port Forwarding problems. Why Karth needs YOUR HELP. - KarthXLR - 11-14-2009 Setting up a static IP didn't help anything, still won't work. Guess I'll just be working on turning DMZ on and off. Re: Port Forwarding problems. Even with all firewalls off it won't work. Re: Port Forwarding problems. Why Karth needs YOUR HELP. - SAVAGE-0 - 11-14-2009 ive read everything i can find on this and have spent hours going through stupid shit... I've never gotten it to work - I used to get it by going direct correction to the modem aka no router, but even that stopped working (i think with vista) - i've given up caring... its never worth that much fuss Re: Port Forwarding problems. Why Karth needs YOUR HELP. - zaneyard - 11-14-2009 i can walk you through it in under 15 minutes |
