Freezing problem? - Coppanuva - 11-14-2009

Hey guys, my laptop started freezing up randomly when I use the internet. It hasn't done this before today, so I don't know why it does. Whenever I open a new tab my processor goes up from around 10% usage to 60% now, which has NEVER happened. This is the computer I play TF2 on, so it's a strong enough processor, 4gb of RAM too. Only thing that changed is today I played minecraft, and my temperatures got up to 70 C, but then went back down. Would this have overheated it and blown it out or not?

Any idea what might cause this or help solve it? I've tried different web browsers to no avail.

Which processes claim the use of the 50% cpu?

You may need to use Process Explorer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

As for your temps...

Hmm ok. I'll try that, and as far as I could tell, it was the web browsers. Complete accuracy isn't possible since ctrl+alt+del wouldn't even work, and I couldn't do anything other than move my mouse. It hasn't frozen since I posted this though, so I think it might be ok now.
