Want to Upgrade - Neonie - 11-29-2009 Ok long story short, my motherboard is fried. I can't play L4D2 without my computer restarting and this is not a new problem, when I first put the computer together my first power supply set fire which probably fried the mother board internally and I've been EXTREMELY lucky it's lasted this long at all. The restarting and my computer turning it self off happened way back a month or two after it was put together , the problem is only just now starting to crop up again and I want to put my mother board in it's very fitting grave. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.295701 can anyone tell me if this is an upgrade over my current processor (AMD Athalon 64). I also just bought that 9800 card I posted in Surfs thread and I want to make sure that, since I'm upgrading the Mother Board and the processor, I want to make sure my new stuff actually has the power to put out the graphics that card is capable of. (I don't overclock btw I like to keep everything as is, so it would only be running the graphics at raw card speed). Also: Is it possible the shutting down and restarting could have problems other then my MB? Such as my hardrive or my Power Supply (500w) Re: Want to Upgrade - CaffeinePowered - 11-29-2009 Well, what processor and board do you have now? Gotta be more specific if you want to know what you posted is better Odds are that it is better, especially if this is the hand-me-down that Cecil gave you Re: Want to Upgrade - Neonie - 11-29-2009 I have an APIAMD 64 Athalon (it does say in original post because I guess it's not worded right)) I'm not sure what board I have but trust me, ANYTHING I have is better then what I have now. I've been pressing F1 in order to get windows to boot up since I've had it because it simply WON'T do some functions. It's pretty bad. it's be from this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103240&cm_re=AMD_64-_-19-103-240-_-Product to this > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103688 Re: Want to Upgrade - CaffeinePowered - 11-29-2009 Well best advice then is to buy whatever you can afford Re: Want to Upgrade - Neonie - 11-29-2009 ok it's ordered.
