Go watch an Islander game. Cheap as hell, and you get to see John Tavares

You'd be about a 10 minute walk from my school (no, not the college).
Need any suggestions on food places?

I don't know too much about the Happauge area (except that the Caleb Smith Preserve is a nice place to hike) since I don't live in Suffolk, but I can give some pointers if you're gonna be in Nassau.
If you do end up going to an Islanders game, the Colosseum would be at least a drive of 30 minutes bar traffic (ie, hahaha no). The deli across the street from it is a really nice little place, and Chipotle is a pretty good Mexican food place.
Some places to stop by if you're driving in the direction of the city include All -American Hamburger which is in Massapequa. More coming when I can make my brain work better.

I think you're about an hour from Penn Station MSG from there if you take the Long Island Rail Road. Something like $20-30 round trip depending on whether it's peak or off peak. If you plan on going to the city I can offer you some suggestions. I don't get out to Suffolk county much, mainly because there isn't a whole lot out there.

Drink long island ice teas until you knock out.
