It is? Taken from the context of games being influential to the decade, Everything but the first two are pretty important. Sure the presentation is pretty dumb, but that's expected.

It wasn't that bad really, though I agree with the first two also. Twilight Princess is nothing more than Wii gimmicks that could've been easily done with a controller, based heavily on Ocarina of Time, though I still loved it, it wasn't exactly groundbreaking.Â
And Super Mario Galaxy was boring. I liked Sunshine more and I hated that game lol Running around circular worlds and flipping around all the time wasn't what a Mario game needed.
The rest I don't mind too much. Half-Life 2 and WoW were expected...At least GTA3 wasn't GTA4 or I would've had to punch someone in the nuts lol I'd agree with RE4. It may have left behind it's survival roots for action, but I rarely played a game as many times I did as RE4...Across three consoles. Two or three plays on Gamecube, two or three plays on the PS2, and then a failed play on the Wii cause the controls suck lol And Shadow of the Colossus was good, but it hardly led the way for future games since there hasn't been another game like it yet. I guess God of War could count, but that came out around the same time involving big baddies you could crawl on and attack.

I mean, Sam & Max was the first game series to do Episodic Gaming right, Crysis is the best looking game ever, etc. etc.

I think Crysis showed that no matter how good it looked and how much your PC sucked to be able to run it at high qualities, that isn't everything if the game itself is boring as hell lol

Hit and miss, world of warcraft shouldn't be on it because as far as I'm concerned it's not a videogame it's a drug. Innovative gameplay, control, design and aesthetic =/= overly addictive, repetitive piece of shit. But whatever, we all have our own top 10, and no ones list will ever be the same.

Based on importance/influence, and popularity I'd say it's a reasonable list. Most of the older games mentioned spawned tons of changes and influenced other games' development. Though I think New Super Mario Bros Wii should replace Mario Galaxy. WoW sucks, yeah, but it's popular, and you can't say every MMO out there hasn't tried to be the next WoW.

my issue with wow is that its the smb's of mmos, nothing special but not terrible either. def does not deserve NUMBER 1 GAME OF THE DECADE!!!!

I think the problem with lists like these is when they don't define their criteria. Best game of the decade vs. Most Important game of the decade vs. Most Influential game of the decade, etc... they can all be very different things. WoW might not be the best game, but it's certainly influential.
