BRB.U's Travel Atlas! - Coppanuva - 04-01-2010 So I was flying in a plane to visit colleges today when I realized something... people on brb.u are from lots of different towns. People on brb.u also visit different towns. Why not work together and we can each create a sort of "Guide" to fun things to do, or good places to eat in our home towns? That way we can have a handy reference. Re: BRB.U's Travel Atlas! - copulatingduck - 04-01-2010 never visit Tyler, TX, there is absolutely nothing to do there and you will kill yourself competing for jobs with thousands of former kelly-springfield and wal-mart supercenter employees Re: BRB.U's Travel Atlas! - Dtrain323i - 04-02-2010 There's not much to do in Omaha except hang out in the old market and laugh at hipsters. I was down there for my fraternity's national conference we had every year. And one night everyone went to one of the bars on campus. Now I was used to Champaign laws, which were basically 19 to get in, after which we don't care, and the bar willingly looks the other way toward underage drinkers. Here was a different story, we were told beforehand we wouldn't be able to drink at the bar so we just pre-gamed pretty hard at the house before going out. We get to the bar and after about 15 min one of the other guys there who is 21 gives me like a quater of a cup from a pitcher. No sooner had I taken a sip than a bouncer tossed me along with about 4 other people. They tossed a bunch of people all night, was kind of ridiculous since we come to the bar, bring about 80 - 100 people on a deserted campus and they start throwing people out. We just wandered around for a while before finding our way back to the house then drinking more there before passing out. College town + known binge drinking problems + something that hits the newspaper = paranoid as fuck bouncers. And I used to love church street but I heard it has gone to shit. They used to have an amazing arcade in this huge historic building. Re: BRB.U's Travel Atlas! - exanimo2 - 04-03-2010 Rummy, I went to Philadelphia (6 hour drive round trip) just to buy some beer. I never realized that Philadelphia was basically the beer capital of the US... perhaps the world. Also, I think if our hometowns were any fun at all we would not be frequenting TF2 and/or these forums. Re: BRB.U's Travel Atlas! - A. Crow - 04-03-2010 Missouri (the Fort Leonard Wood area specifically) is devoid of any advanced life or proper entertainment. Plenty of Caves though. Re: BRB.U's Travel Atlas! - rumsfald - 04-03-2010 @exanimo the beardfaced stud: Hmm, though I live around Philly, and thus am partial, I don't know that I am prepared to proclaim that it's the best beers in the US. (Fat tire is good, Boston has some goods, Washington/Oregon have some goods). Philly is definitely in the running though, and more importantly, it's what I know. But, IMHO, Belgium is definitely the beer capital of the world. After that, Germany, Ireland, UK, and even France, have some better brews than US. And don't get me started on Alexander Keith's. But but, if you are in Philly, and like brewskis, those are some good starting points.
