Problem with Headphones - Vongore - 06-06-2010 So i got a Microsoft LfeChat LX-3000 USB headphones for my birthday, but when i use them, i always have this weird backround souns, sounds a lot like static or a subwoofer that's too loud. I've tried changing almost everything, but there's one think that still bugs me, that my Realtek HD control pannel doesn't let me select the LifeChat LX-3000 as a sound device. I only want to see is it's because the bass is too loud (since the MS equalizer is smaller and doesn't have bass on the options) or something. Any ideas? Thanks Re: Problem with Headphones - Darklink - 06-07-2010 In XP at least some sound option don't show up so you go to Volume Control, click option, go to properties, and check the box of what you want to show up. Idk how it work in 7/Vista though and bass may be hiding there. Re: Problem with Headphones - Kirby - 06-07-2010 We need more info, what version of Windows are you running, XP, Vista, 7, 3.11 for Workgroups, Microsoft Bob? Also, of course you can't pick a non-RealTek soundcard in the RealTek control panel, it's not a RealTek product =p About the background noise in the headphones, you said it sounds like a sub, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you mean it sounds like a sub that's just going Buhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh in monotone? If that's what it sounds like, odds are it's an electrical grounding issue in your PC, if it's not grounded properly you'll hear that. I had the same problem in my car w/ my laptop over the stereo until I devised a wire going from the grounding prong on the AC adapter to the chassis. Mission also has(had?) the same problem with his mic in TF2 If you're running Windows Vista or 7, you're pretty much screwed for the bass output on the 'phones, Microsoft nerfed sound options like a mofo after XP, unless there's some option I've not yet seen or heard of. |
