Missing Network Connection icon (Win 7) - Duck, Duck, Goose - 01-18-2011

Okay so, I have both a wireless card and a wired card on my laptop, and once upon a time I had them bridged to play Xbox. Now I want to do this again, but the LAN connection has disappeared (even though it's still working fine and available in the troubleshooting menus).

It's actually been like this for a long-ass time now. I used my desktop instead because it worked, but now my desktop is fucked so I have to use the laptop.

It sounds retarded however I believe windows 7 only likes one connection at a time. For kicks disconnect from your wireless and see if anything comes up. Also make sure you have activity lights for your Ethernet on the laptop side.
Also for kicks try restarting the network connections service. Windows button -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Network Connections
Stop and then start it.

My laptop exhibits retarded behavior like this as War suggested when I flip from Wireless to Wired connections, normally disabling the active network adapter fixes it for me.

That said, it's odd that you cannot see the disconnected Marvel nic. The only Win7 laptop that I have allows for both connections at once.
Only troubleshooting I'd suggest is to try loading the newest, vendor supplied driver. 'Generic Marvell Yukon' doesn't sound too legit.

And I get an error whenever I try to stop that service.

lol sadly yes this does work. Also make sure you have administrative privlages.
If that doesn't work I would go with hek and make sure there arn't any new drivers from your manufactuar. If you post your make/model info I bet we could find some.

I've restarted my computer at least 100 times since this first occurred, considering it's been like this for a few months now.
