A love letter. - 3clipse - 02-07-2011

Hello my friends. I am composing A love letter for my lady Smile I'm planning on giving this to her on Valentines Day. So I come to you folk for help. This isn't complete what so ever. But, What do you think of this so far? Any Ideas, thoughts, insight, suggestions?

Ivy Wood... What can I say? Thanks? No, that hardly cuts it... Thank you so much? Hmmm, not even close. Ivy... The way I feel about you is immeasurable. No ruler, no seismograph, no barometer, no thermometer, no speedometer, no odometer, no tachometer, no balance, no scale, no gauge, no protractor, no gyroscope, no math, no science, can measure how I feel for you... When I’m around you, I feel whole, I feel right, I feel special. And when I’m not around you, I’ve got you on my mind, unfortunately, this leads me to smiling like an idiot, and getting commented on my foolish look. If I were in a room with a white ceiling, white walls, and a white floors, and you, I’d be the happiest man in the world. Ivy… I-V-Y… 9… 22… 25… I’ve never had a favorite number, but I’ve got one now; 56. Toxicodendron radicans… A plant better known as Poison Ivy. A plant known to cause a burning rash on most people who come into contact with it. Let’s just say, that I’ve caught fire. Ivy, you are the most beautiful girl in the world. Your radiance stirs the Sun to jealousy, the Moon to despair, because they know of one whose beauty they cannot compare. Your scent matches your beauty. A smell pure and sweet. Ivy, you smell good enough to eat. You do so much with your life too. You play so many sports, play a plethora of instruments, and sing… Sing with such a beautiful voice, a voice that makes the heavens weep tears of joy. Your voice is the gentle song of spring, smooth as silk, and full of life. Ivy, these are just few of the reasons why I want to thank you, for everything. Ivy… I adore you. Lucky, I am the luckiest man in the world. Only with you, I want to be. Very happy, I am, around you, even without you. Everything I do, I do for you. You are amazing, jaw dropping, stunning. On every possible occasion, I want to be with you. Unlucky, is every other man in the world. This may be the last sentence, but it’s not the end of this note.

Sincerely,
Brent Hoekman

HINT: If you havn't realized, First letter of each new sentence near the end there spells out, "I love you."

Call me nerdy, call me dumb. But hey, I'm in love.

I really don't like the last sentence, I need to think of a better way to word the hint I'm trying to get at.

Good Idea! But I made the, "Ivy" and "I adore you" on sperate lines as well. So it is more "Ivy, I love you." Get what I mean?

So this is where I am at.

God, this sends me back. You don't know how many of these I crumpled in frustration and left in recycle bins around my school.

But this is fantastically written. Well done sir.

The only true way to express your feelings is via mix tape.

Ok pal, I was in your place once. So I'll help you out. I've taken the liberty of making a couple edits that should help you in your journey.

k so i totally thought ivy wood was a placeholder name because you didn't want us to know her real name

Re: A love letter. - Chief - 02-07-2011

i saw this at a fireworks store sign, and i think is the best thing to give someone on valentine's day

"Flowers are easy
Poems are cheesy
something something
Fireworks are great!"

Re: A love letter. - Eightball - 02-07-2011

If this message isn't too far off from how you communicate or share feelings with her, then go for it bud. If not, I'd say make it a bit more earnest and straightforward (ie less poetic). Of course, maybe you could be going for laughs? But in any case, I'd avoid ending it with "sincerely"; that's what you use to conclude letters to peers and colleagues :v

Re: A love letter. - Dtrain323i - 02-07-2011

we also require pics of said female to determine if the love letter is worth it.

Tis your goodly bits I desire.

For I am an earnest man,

And I'll tap it as hard as I can

For that combo multiplier.

I dunno lol

Re: A love letter. - Surf314 - 02-07-2011

Try writing another one and in that one make it short and more heartfelt. And in that one try to make it seem like you are equally lucky to have each other. Then compare the two ways of writing it and see what you think.

Classic... When I told my mom her name she asked if Ivy had a sister named Fern. But yah, her name cracks me up. Ivy... Wood... Hahahaha.
