Mid-range Graphics Cards - korkesh - 06-10-2011

I am currently in the process of building a new compuer for my brother and I have been out of the loop for a while now on graphic cards.

I will be using a 1920 X 1080 screen and my brothers main concern is Battlefield 3 and gaming in general.
I am looking to keep it under $400... in canadian money Tongue
I am also hoping for it to last a few years.

If you have any recommendations it would be great.

Break is almost over, but I can tell you for the higher end of your price range, look @ either AMD's 6950 or 6960 line of cards, stick with PowerColor, Sapphire, Gigabyte or HIS. Almost all of the cards in that range are 2GB cards, which lend themselves much much better to AA at 1080p

I believe for nVidia the GTX 570 line falls under the $300-$400 price window, but the Spore signal would be more appropriate for nVidia shittie.

570 is one of the better price-performance and really the only logical choice for nvidia.

560Ti is great too, only around $250 USD or so. Despite being a "mid-range" priced card it max's everything I throw at it, including Witcher 2 on my native res (1680x1050).

I'm really thinking about the 560 ti myself. I've been reading tom's and other sources and it seems like the best card for the best price.
