Protip from somebody with experience in American gov: don't go through a mediating organization to contact your Senators and Congressmen, it's hard to tell legit concern mails from the bullshit ones (or worse, the ones that misappropriate names and addresses, groups will send letters on your behalf without your consent)

Solution: take out the middleman and contact your Reps/Sens with a personal email. It doesn't need long or complex, but if It's cogent, unique, and thoughtful then you have a greater chance at breaking through the shuffle. Drop your mailing address in the e-mail so they know you're in their district (they check). Also, don't write to reps that aren't yours.

Then here: http://www.senate.gov/reference/common/faq/How_to_contact_senators.htm

It's a good habit to get into (and FFS, make sure your grammar doesn't suck)
