EA Origin. Like or no like? - Star Knight - 07-05-2011 I'm not liking it so far, the fact some games are 'origin exclusive.' Just seems to me like another piece of crap software you need just to play a game. Re: EA Origin. Guess the guys at EA think "Failed Plan + New Paint = Overthrower of Best Plan" Re: EA Origin. Like or no like? - If-I-Die-Its-Lag - 07-05-2011 Well, I switched to it when Bioware got hacked. Blah blah blah later, and I stop using it. Re: EA Origin. Like or no like? - Eschatos - 07-05-2011 While I like the idea of a competitor to Steam, EA is my last choice to be that competitor. Re: EA Origin. Like or no like? - Spore - 07-05-2011 I like that I can register all my Steam EA games on it. That's kind of cool. That's about it though. And I better not have to buy Mass Effect 3 off of the thing. Re: EA Origin. Like or no like? - Badgerman of DOOM - 07-05-2011 only have it because me dlc Re: EA Origin. Guess the guys at EA think "Failed Plan + New Paint = Overthrower of Best Plan" [/quote] But this time they're gonna have shit like BF3 backing it instead of Spore. I could see that giving it some traction tbh Re: EA Origin. Like or no like? - Maxon - 07-06-2011 I don't hate Origin, just find it abit annoying, with friends and other games already on Steam. Only thing I'll probably be getting on it is like Battlefield 3...so I basically have one game for an entire program, at least for awhile lol Re: EA Origin. Like or no like? - CaffeinePowered - 07-06-2011 They announced that BF3 will have no mods, no dev kits, and no customization outside of what EA puts in themselves. Whelp, there goes my excitement for the game :-\ Re: EA Origin. Like or no like? - Maxon - 07-06-2011 Not really that surprising after Bad Company 2. Re: EA Origin. Sadly a result of them using a bajillion middleware technologies to make the game instead of liscensing an engine or making one 100% thesmelves. Apparently to compile a map it takes weeks worth of work before its even playable in-game and you need to have direct access to source code to do it. So it's mostly because the way they made the game makes it impossible to mod/map without giving out the full source code and usage rights to all the middleware they use. Which obviously is major lawsuit material against them from the middleware companies. |
