Hey, I'm ruckus! - ruckus - 04-02-2012 Hi everyone! I used play on the brb.u TF2 server quite frequently but never bothered to join the forums til now. Then I ran into one of you in a game of Dota 2, and realized that you all seem terribly nice and I'd probably like to hang out in an online capacity. My favorite games are Dota 2, TF2, Pokemon, L4D, DDR, and uh...lots others. I live in California, eat way more Mexican food than a doctor would advise, and habitually fall asleep while watching movies. I swear, it's like some cinematically-induced narcolepsy. I'm 23, majored in computer science and minored in Japanese at a school back in Ohio where I'm originally from, and then moved out here to be the community manager of a startup gaming news site (dream career++). I'm an Arrogant PC Elitist, I go to every convention I possibly can, and oh god I sound like a horrible neckbeard. Anyway, I guess I'm not all that great at writing about myself, so uh...nice to meet you guys! Re: Hey, I'm ruckus! - Didzo - 04-02-2012 Welcome to BRBU. I am Didzo, the most terribly nice person here. I also play TF2 (Hoovie) and feed my medics sandviches while yelling at them giving them verbal positive guidance. You should trade me your hats. On a side, I too live in Cali and am now hungry and craving Mexican food.... Gah. Anyways, welcome to our little clubhouse on the internet. We have community nights in TF2 on tuesdays and fridays and are somewhat mostly friendly. Also be wary around didzo when carrying your hats. Re: Hey, I'm ruckus! - Surf314 - 04-02-2012 Oh hi, I think you ran into me. Good to see you on the forums. We've got a huge group going, would be a good opportunity to meet a ton of us! Welcome aboard, by the way. I usually manage our Friday TF2 event, Friday Night Fights (FNF), whether finding someone to host or hosting it myself. Definitely show up for that and TFT (Team Fortress Tuesdays). Info gets posted in the TF2 forum on those. Now that I'm in SoCal, it's a bit harder to manage Too bad I didn't join the forums a year ago! Do you happen to be a Dtoider as well? I only ask because of the term "FNF" - they use that term too so I didn't know how ubiquitous it was or not. [/quote] Many moons ago when TF2 came out, the server was the DToid community server, split off after ~6 months as the quality of the site started to tank when the administration decided it wasn't a good idea to clean out any of the riff-raff. If you're out in SoCal I'll be at Fanime in May, though most of us attend the Midwest cons, ACEN, Geekkon, Youmacon, and a few on the east coast, Otakon, Magfest. I get way more excited than I need to when I find out other people live here - like I said before I'm from Ohio, so I'm not used to running into people online who lived near me Anyway, I actually just moved here about three weeks ago so this will be an abbreviated list, but here are my favorites so far: Cotixan - oh god the Cotixan fries. and the fish tacos. hnnnnng Rubio's - I know it's a chain, but it's sooo goooood El Patron - really good, and cheap Taco Tuesdays As for non-mexican, there's an Indian place near me called Annapurna. AMAZING tikka masala. Their vegetable samosas are good but a bit on the peppery side for my tastes. Also you guys have MUCH more interesting fast food than we did in the Midwest. I ordered an egg roll at Jack in the Box the other day :V Re: Hey, I'm ruckus! - Geoff - 04-05-2012 nigga rubios aint mexican food no Re: Hey, I'm ruckus! - at0m - 04-11-2012 welp, that happened.
