Any way to deal with ridiculous amount of air? - Surf314 - 11-27-2012 I've been seeing other factions running 20-30 birds in the sky at any given time to assault a base. There really doesn't seem to be any hard counter to this. Burster Maxes don't have the range or damage. HA is being countered now that everyone has flares. It's kind of ridiculous how much these guys can shut down a base being defended. Re: Any way to deal with ridiculous amount of air? - Goffin - 11-27-2012 20-30 HA's with coordinated target call outs.  Re: Any way to deal with ridiculous amount of air? - CaffeinePowered - 11-27-2012 (11-27-2012, 05:51 PM)Goffin link Wrote: 20-30 HA's with coordinated target call outs.   We sorta did this but could have used some more AA, it was all burster maxes The tactic has been, when we got rocket poded in the sunderer, immediately deploy and scramble out, people swap to AA max and just toast whatever makes runs on us we held on the doorstep to the TR gate on Indar farming for a good 10 minutes. Id imagine running a sunderer with 8 HA and 3 engis and 1 medic would be just as good Re: Any way to deal with ridiculous amount of air? - [fr31ns]Karrde - 11-27-2012 Make sure on person has MAX equipped on contested runs. That way you can pop out and shoot right away. 1-2 engis since swapping is so easy. 1 medic, everyone else goes HA. MAX starts the show, alone it should be enough to make an ESF or 2 think twice. If it's just ESFs, the HA with LMGs do decent damage. Goes up if anyone has AA rockets. If it's really bad, up the number of MAX units, esp if a lib joins the party. If you're getting picked on by a lib with the Dalton or Zephyr and they're competent at aiming, you're kinda fucked anyway. MAX might be able to scare them off if it jumps out right away. Re: Any way to deal with ridiculous amount of air? - Surf314 - 11-27-2012 I think it needs to be a mix of HA and burster maxes. The good pilots can dodge a lot of missiles through flares, afterburner, and flying around obstacles. But the big damage ding of a missile is usually needed to secure the kills. Re: Any way to deal with ridiculous amount of air? - Goffin - 11-28-2012 I like the idea.   I could see 2 burster maxes on stand by,  3-4 HA's for ground assualt and 1-2 engies depending.  No need for a medic if Caff or whoever is in the bus and stays in it.  |
