Roguelikes - Eschatos - 03-17-2013 Who here likes roguelikes. What with being busier than usual due to school I tend to play a lot of roguelikes since they're easy to pick up and put down(when you die in a ridiculously unfair manner). I'm quite fond of Nethack and Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup myself. Yall might find that amusing, pretty much a case of the worst possible luck when going down a new set of stairs. Not only two named enemies but a random orc with a random distortion-branded weapon that just happened to succeed on the tiny chance to cast me into the Abyss. Spoiler alert: if you get thrown into the Abyss at level five you're not making it out alive. Re: Roguelikes - Chief - 03-18-2013 http://doom.chaosforge.org/ yeah Re: Roguelikes - Didzo - 03-18-2013 Binding of Isaac... if that counts. Re: Roguelikes - StolenToast - 03-18-2013 Dungeons of Dredmor! Probably more casual than the others, it's got some good humor. Re: Roguelikes - K2 - 03-18-2013 (03-18-2013, 10:23 AM)Eschatos link Wrote:
It is, so is FTL
I'd call them roguelike-likes. Re: Roguelikes - Duck, Duck, Goose - 10-09-2013 I've enjoyed what I've played of Sword of the Stars: The Pit so far. Re: Roguelikes - Elder - 10-09-2013 Risk of rain, it has a free demo. And terraria because you can make hardcore characters Re: Roguelikes - Eschatos - 10-09-2013 Just managed to ruin a great Lava Orc Berserker run in DCSS by running into the Enchanted Woods ahead of time. Protip: The Enchanted Woods, contrary to the name, are not a nice place. Enchanted = usually full of magic Magic = wizards, warlocks, witches, etc. This will ruin your day Sent from inside a giant robot car Re: Re: Re: Roguelikes - Eschatos - 10-11-2013 (10-11-2013, 10:22 AM)Elder link Wrote:
Enchanted = usually full of magic Magic = wizards, warlocks, witches, etc. This will ruin your day Sent from inside a giant robot car
Pretty much, a spriggan druid introduced me to his pet dire elephant. Re: Roguelikes - Eschatos - 11-02-2014 Crypt of the Necrodancer is actually really really good. Color me curious Re: Roguelikes - Didzo - 11-03-2014 Reminder that the roguelike-like Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is out tomorrow. I think it's still on the pre-order pricing. Comes with some TF2 hat if you preorder as well for those of you who care.
