The things you learn working in a call center - FlyingMongoose - 03-20-2013 Okay, so... as you all know I got a new job, no longer working in a call center. But I figured I'd share some life lessons of experience gained from there as I can remember them. It's okay to be racist, if the person perpetuates the stereotype. A customer who was a self-entitled bitch who felt everything should be handed to her and would only accept anything in her own way and no other way. This woman was African American. A very very frivolous and even tried to haggle our prices with us... this is a vast majority of Middle Eastern and/or South Asian (Indian) customers. If you're offended by anything that gets posted to this or this thread... tough shit, blame it on those who perpetuate these stupid ass stereotypes! Re: The things you learn working in a call center - Elder - 03-20-2013 mongoose youre so much fun when youre stereotyping Re: The things you learn working in a call center - FlyingMongoose - 03-20-2013 Don't all Geologists take their drinks on the rocks? Seriously though. These people are what perpetuate stereotypes. I mean no disrespect to anyone specifically. And I'm not actually racist myself. but when you have people who act like this and are part of an obvious "minority"... it just keeps that going Re: The things you learn working in a call center - Elder - 03-20-2013 dont make fun of geologists. Without them you wouldnt have your fancy anything made of plastic/metal/polymer/alloy/etc. Also we got people hooked on asbestos Re: The things you learn working in a call center - Chooly - 03-31-2013 I do outbound sales for AT&T.. What is it with America and Red Lobster / Olive Garden? 9.999999 Times out of ten that's the response to "What's your favorite restaurant?" Re: The things you learn working in a call center - A. Crow - 03-31-2013 wait, are we talking about racism again? Re: Re: The things you learn working in a call center - Luinbariel - 03-31-2013 Sometimes I feel like you need to not take the job personally to survive. People are stupid in every job. What changes, what helps you keep sane, is not caring and moving on with your life instead of letting them drag you down.
