New Unreal Tournament - FlyingMongoose - 05-09-2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJGQK2njFiA Unreal Tournament Official Announcement: https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/the-future-of-unreal-tournament-begins-today Public roadmap for UE4: https://trello.com/b/gHooNW9I/ue4-roadmap Official Unreal Engine Announcement for UE4: https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/sharing-the-unreal-engine-4-roadmap It will be completely free, community driven, and assets available to UE4 developers... this will be... very interesting. Re: New Unreal Tournament - FlyingMongoose - 11-08-2014 So, hey, guess what. There's a playable build available (it's pre-alpha, so don't be disappointed if it doesn't look pretty because it probably won't yet). https://wiki.unrealengine.com/Version_Notes <-- Notes https://launcher-service-prod06.ol.epicgames.com/launcher/api/installer/download/UnrealEngineInstaller.msi <-- Launcher (64 bit ONLY) If you want to download on your own (gotta be registered): https://forums.unrealtournament.com/showthread.php?12011-Unreal-Tournament-Pre-Alpha-Playable-Build I'll be honest, it's coming along quite nicely. The CTF mode is in there and seems to work pretty well. Re: New Unreal Tournament - FlyingMongoose - 03-02-2015 Well, now Unreal Engine 4 is outright free including the source code... that's really big news. https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/ue4-is-free Re: New Unreal Tournament - CaffeinePowered - 03-02-2015 (03-02-2015, 12:46 PM)FlyingMongoose link Wrote: Well, now Unreal Engine 4 is outright free including the source code... that's really big news. Dang, what about all the people that paid in for licenses? [/quote] According to that article (I'm assuming you can't reach it due to being at work). Those who were recently subscribed are getting a pro-rated refund, and everyone who has ever subscribed (even if they cancelled) get a $30 marketplace credit. Basically those months that someone was subscribed I guess were considered development support donations, or something along those lines. Honestly it doesn't bother me, the UE4 engine is incredible and based on what I've seen of Unity 5 vs. Unreal 4... this stuff is great news (I'm out a total of like $60 myself, but that's about the same as buying a game anyway, now I can make as many as I want for free from here on out). |
