Yellow Ver. - CaffeinePowered - 03-21-2010 If any of you has not seen yet, Yellow has been turned into an idle box, it will be disappearing at the end of its billing term so get the most out of it while you can Reserve slots do work so you should be able to get in at any time. If anyone is interested in keeping it around and would like to fund it, PM me. Re: Yellow Ver. - Darklink - 03-21-2010 Put this in another thread, but if you like to idle textmode here you go. Make idle.cfg in your cfg folder and put this in it to connect to yellow: connect 68.232.174.110:27015 Now create a shortcut for TF2, go to its properties and set target as: "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 440 -textmode +exec idle.cfg Just boot form the shortcut and the game will load up and connect right to the server. You WILL NOT connect to the server automatically from your Steam shortcut. Re: Yellow Ver. - CaffeinePowered - 03-22-2010 Eightball has graciously decided to fund yellow for another 3 months, reserve slots are still in effect, so feel free to use them to boot idlers who aren't brb Re: Yellow Ver. - Darklink - 03-22-2010 Oh and I got a message saying I got kicked for being idle too long, not sure what was up with that. I think I need to mess with the configs a bit Re: Yellow Ver. - Eightball - 03-22-2010 I'm not crazy about idle servers, but it still beats 24/7 2fort 8) Also not sure if CBC wants to do any scrims soon. I'd be up for it. Re: Yellow Ver. - Odin - 03-22-2010 I wouldn't mind doing competitive again. Re: Yellow Ver. - backfire - 03-23-2010 Definatly. I'd be pretty happy to do some more scrims. Think CBC only had one or two real scrims. Problem was just getting everyone online at the same time. :-\ Re: Yellow Ver. - [fr31ns]Karrde - 03-23-2010 There's gotta be a way to join team by console though. Does idling work if you're not on a team? Re: Yellow Ver. - copulatingduck - 03-23-2010 i offered to ring lots of times but trick is gay Re: Yellow Ver. - copulatingduck - 03-23-2010 raped with ease Re: Yellow Ver. - Kirby - 03-23-2010 Quote:Karrde link=topic=4367.msg142697#msg142697 date=1269323558] No. Yes. I'm thinking up ideas right now. If anyone wants to help it needs the following: -Inclusive -Skill balanced -Worthy prize (not necessarily money or game could be some kind of honor) -Flexible for people that can't make a scheduled match -Reasonable in scope -Not overly complicated If anyone can think of a format that meets those requirements let me know. I'm personally thinking along the lines of having the competition be among captains and maybe players separately. For example have a set captain list and let them do pickups for matches, maybe give them some time to practice, then winning team's captain gets the win in a ladder format. Separate to that the highest scoring non-captain player gets a point and the captains choose their best player who gets a point (leaving us with 2 winners a captain and a player). The player with the most points at the end wins too. What do you think? Re: Yellow Ver. - CaffeinePowered - 03-23-2010 One giant brb-pickup, everyone throws their names into a hat, we see how many people we got and divide by 6, have that many teams. Select captains, captains then have a private "draft", and rosters are then put out. And captains need to be good about scheduling, it will be one of the most important things they do. Re: Yellow Ver. - Radio Raheem - 03-23-2010 a draft is by far the way to go with hopefully non retard captains who know the community reasonably well Re: Yellow Ver. - Duck, Duck, Goose - 03-23-2010 Reserve slots don't work... But fuck yes, +1 Boner Banner. Idling, how I've missed you. |
