have you defragged with GCFscape?

Might as well piggy-back this thread, my fps has been getting choppy and low since the soldier update, so much so that i've reduced my settings a lot without effect.  Do you think defragging would help, and if so how do I defrag with GCFscape?

once downloaded, make sure you have Write Access enabled and Volatile Access Disabled.

After that, turn off STEAM. The program won't work otherwise. Once off, open up one of the TF2 gcf files. They can be found in c:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps. The files are: TF2 Materials, TF2 Content, and TF2 Client Content. Open up any one of these (make sure write access is enabled!) and select defragment or press ctrl+d. The defrag usually takes a really long time, so be patient.

Just use the batch defrag on gcfscape and defrag all your gcfs.
