Rotation Shake-Up - CaffeinePowered - 01-19-2011 Please REPLY to this post, I want your opinion on how to keep things fun and interesting Well, its the time of the year again when things start to get stale and its time to mix things up a bit, I wanted to start a new thead since I want to talk about a bit more than just rotation. For the uninformed - Red's Rotation: Server #1: pl_badwater cp_coldfront ctf_mach4 pl_thundermountain cp_indulge cp_gorge plr_panic_b2 cp_roswell ctf_haarp_b2 cp_steel pl_switftwater_frc4 cp_mountainlab cp_stark_b2 cp_glacier_rc5 cp_dustbowl pl_cashworks_rc2 ctf_snowdrift_b3 cp_gravelpit cp_vector_v1 pl_upward cp_warpath2 pl_waste_final pl_goldrush cp_gullywash_rc10 ctf_landfall_rc plr_hightower Blue's Rotation: cp_dustbowl pl_badwater cp_gorge pl_upward cp_well pl_goldrush Here's a potential list of changes, please comment on them: Red: - Removal of Random Crits - Stocks at back of nomination list - Stocks removed from nomination list - Removal of random pellet spread - RTV "Last maps" limit increased from current to 6 (You can not rtv to the previous 6 maps played) Maps: pl_badwater cp_indulge pl_frontier (Re-added) cp_gorge pl_boundary_rc3 (New!) cp_roswell ctf_haarp_test7 (update from beta 2) pl_cashworks_rc2 cp_gravelpit ctf_snowdrift_b3 pl_upward pl_waste_final ctf_landfall_rc plr_hightower I wanted to significantly trim down the rotation while adding a few new things and keeping things unique so each map represents a different gametype. This rotation is also very CP and PL heavy. I would also consider swapping out badwater or gravelpit for their backwards versions. Blue: - Removal of RTV, or removal of all non-stock maps from RTV, last night an errant RTV fucked something up in Sourcemod, causing the server to go to pac-man and kill the game there. cp_dustbowl pl_badwater cp_gorge pl_upward cp_badlands (New) pl_goldrush plr_hightower (New) Id like to try to encourage more seeding, especially on blue, which if you can get 6 - 8 people into, will fill on its own, and stay full for literally hours. The maps look good, but I would dump cp_rosewell and put in one of the mirrored stocks, perhaps. Re: Rotation Shake-Up - CaffeinePowered - 01-19-2011 I would like to keep one normal CTF map somewhere in the mix, mercy is nice, but the one gripe I have with it is it turns into a camp fest when you get more than 16 people on it. One team caps fast, then spends the remaining 60 - 120 seconds of the round making loops with the flag and camping the fuck out of it. Also as a point of clarification stocks at the back is more for pubbies who discover the nominate feature, maybe one of them would be "Oooo, I wonder what this map is?" and nominate it, rather than derping straight to 2fort. Since more often than not when I see nominations by non-regulars, they dont even bother going through the list to "see whats there" Also, tests of boundary have shown the second cap choke point to not be nearly as bad as advertised. Re: Rotation Shake-Up - [fr31ns]Karrde - 01-19-2011 Stocks must be kept on RTV for seeding purposes. Plus the occasional errant desire to play Hydro  I'd kick plr_hightower in favor of panic, which is far superior. Indulge also seems to server kill/steamroll a lot.
