Just wondering... - fyre - 07-02-2008 How do you guys make those videos? Re: Just wondering... - Wedge - 07-02-2008 Monkey Magic. Re: Just wondering... - KarthXLR - 07-02-2008 the .dem files? Simple, go to the console and type, "record *demoname*" and "stop" when you're finished. You can view them by opening the console and typing, "playdemo *demoname*". Also, you can find the .dem files in steam/steamapps/yournamehere/teamfortress2/tf/ Re: Just wondering... - Surf314 - 07-02-2008 (07-02-2008, 02:41 PM)KarthXLR link Wrote: the .dem files? Yea then you put the .dem files online and post it to the forums and some program magic happens that makes the movies. As of yet the software doesn't support music or scene selection. You just get whatever comes out and have to be happy with it. It was cool of scotty to add that feature to the forums. Re: Just wondering... - fyre - 07-02-2008 Actually, I was wondering more how you actually turn the .dem files into movies. Like what programs do you use to edit them and stuff? Re: Just wondering... - Versus - 07-02-2008 (07-02-2008, 01:57 PM)Wedge link Wrote: Monkey Magic. Like what programs do you use to edit them and stuff? Fyre, take a look here.. http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Help:Recording_demos I use the [tt]startmovie[/tt] command to output a big mess of Targa (.tga) image files while I'm viewing a demo. The output will consist of both the big stack of .tga files and a .wav file of the audio that was playing at the time. NOTE: If you have four or more speakers, switch to two speakers first. Otherwise the game will force it and sometimes that interferes with voice comms playing. Keep this in mind... targas are big. They are numerous. Targa screen resolution comparison (TF2 playing at...): 1680 x 1050: 5,168 KB per frame. 30 frames / second. One minute of footage = ~ 9 GB. 1024 x  768: 2,305 KB per frame. 30 frames / second. One minute of footage = ~ 4 GB. |
