My dad said if I was ever going to stay out late, past curfew to just give him a call and let him know where i was. footer: fuck you haters. Re: Lord of the rings online. - cbre88x - 06-25-2008 The hell? Re: Lord of the rings online. - Surf314 - 06-25-2008 Vandam has been eaten by LOTORO Re: Lord of the rings online. - cbre88x - 06-25-2008 Oh ok. I've never been able to afford MMO's..and meh. Now we are talking MMORPG that I actually play nowadays. Me and the girl are both level 41. I'm a guardian, and she's a burglar. So far, the game has never gone without a wealth of quests. UNLIKE WORLD OF WARCRAFT, there was a logical progression to where the quests went, and there is a plethora of them for every level. WoW might be like that now, but back when it started, there was way too many levels to grind in instances. Also, you can get really really good loot from everyday normal quests. The economy is a bit slow, but you can still make enough money for the level 35 horse fairly fast. Money isn't that big of a need. Skills don't cost half as a much, and instead of verbose talent trees, you get bonuses for the skills you really use a lot in the form of traits. And equipping the correct traits doesn't cost a fortune. Also, it is one of the prettiest MMOs I've played. If you have the graphics power, just play the trial and hike the details to explosive. Many upon many of my desktops have been plain straight screenshots from the game. The zones are that big and majestic when you have high details and you get at the top of a mountain. Groups? Finding groups to do the quests you need is not that big of a chore at all. Since the title "group quest" on some quests just means get a few other people, any class will really do sometimes. Healers are, of course, rare. But, there exists fellowship moves. These moves either are executed by a class that can start them, or by random, you get 4 choices. Put a DoT, direct attack, more mana, more health. So you can even somewhat heal without a healer. This drastically increases the probability of small healerless groups surviving. The fellowship move system is how my girl and I survived leveling this far without a minstrel. I'd say I've enjoyed my time in LOTRO more than any other MMO, except Planetside before they fucked it up with the briefcases. TRY IT. Re: Lord of the rings online. - KarthXLR - 06-25-2008 wut. I have no idea what just happened. Re: Lord of the rings online. - Vandamguy - 06-25-2008 pngwn , what servar ? Re: Lord of the rings online. - dapngwnman - 06-25-2008 Vilya, you? Well in UO you just went and built a house or mined for ingots and such. Just as fun Re: Lord of the rings online. - Vandamguy - 06-25-2008 (06-25-2008, 09:33 PM)Tragic Hero link Wrote: You kids are spoiled with your quests. In my day during EQ and UO you just fought things and earned gear. Not this "Hey I can't find a group so I'll go get a quest". NO! You had to sit your ass at the meeting point and wait til someone needed a rogue or a caster. Those were the days.i have both of those games on my resume, dont worry I'm all paid up on the old school ways. Re: Lord of the rings online. - Eschatos - 06-25-2008 Right now I'm in the mood for an MMO. I've decided WoW doesn't do it for me, so I'm trying to pick between LOTRO and Age of Conan. Re: Lord of the rings online. - Dave - 06-25-2008 (06-25-2008, 09:44 PM)Eschatos link Wrote: Right now I'm in the mood for an MMO. I've decided WoW doesn't do it for me, so I'm trying to pick between LOTRO and Age of Conan. I prefered AoC, full on pvp no pussy shit with fatalities and siege warfare, not got to 80 yet, but its good so far. Re: Lord of the rings online. - Wedge - 06-25-2008 RO is the only MMO for me. For one, it being free helps. And something about adorable Korean sprites is just soothing in ways no other MMO can be. I've still got a 99/50 Soul Linker on a private server somewhere... I know Eschatos hated it though XD. I'm sorry, but RO was SHITE. The game mechanics sucked ass, and the translation to English was so bad it wasn't even funny after the third conversation.
