Thursday Mod Nods 7/3 - Surf314 - 07-01-2008
Sorry for the late post. Jailbreak has a new release out so there is much excitement about that. Also are 3 picks of other mods we have yet to try. Choose well, choose wisely.
Jailbreak
Insurgency
DIPRIP
Dystopia
Battlegrounds (added for fourth of July, can change votes if you wish)
Next week look for battlegrounds 2 as a choice.

I hate Insurgency. I ran in with my knife expecting it to be one hit kill, and died. Then I had to wait 7 minutes to respawn.

Probably some crappy server, I never waited more than...well, I dunno, it's been a while, but I think I always respawned in well under a minute.

Yes, you need base HL2, and for a few mods, you need HLDM as well
If you bought the orange box you are good to go

I did not purchase the orange box
I do have TF2 and HL2 thou. (Bought TF2 via Steam and was "gifted" HL2) (Also all the old TF games not installed)

I'm not 100% sure but for some mods all you have to have is the Source SDK Base under your tool tab in steam. My brother only bought TF2 and he got access to the Source SDK base and he can play most mods.

Also HLDM doesn't come with Orange Box O_o. It wanted me to pay $5 for it, then I realized anyone with an nVidia card can get it for free. But does anything need HLDM other than SourceForts?

No, I almost got in a fight once but a bunch of people ran out and told the guy to fuck off. I've always been nice to everyone which seems to earn my friends from strange places. I even used to hang out with a friend in the projects for a while in high school.
But yea that kid was a douche. Some of my friends beat him up every time they saw him. It was kind of a joke actually. So he tried to take it out on me.
