I had no clue that you couldn't pass on TF2. I had already owned TF2, and I bought orange box the other day because I felt that playing through portal and HL2 ep:2 on the xbox 360 didn't do the game justice. I wanted to pass TF2 to my poor friend. I even bought TF2 back when it was still 30 dollars >:[

Seriously though, keep bugging them. I'm sure there's a way, just that the person you spoke to didn't tell you. :S

Yeah I agree; nice second response there also.

It really is too bad that you can't do this for TF2, doesn't make a whole lot in the way of sense to me.

Actually, HL2 and Ep. 1 are the exception to the rule. Every other game on Steam cannot be "regifted" to a friend if you buy another copy. Hopefully this will change in the future though.
