The Celebration of My Victory was AWESOME! - ainmosni - 07-09-2008 So yeah, this post is a bit late but this is the first time that I feel like I'm able to make it. So when I heard on thursday that I finally won from The Man I went drinking after work with my colleague at a bar close to my work. A few beers later my colleague and his gf had to go to a concert so I went by my neighbours where they fed me loads of beer. (About 14 strong ones) After that I went home, hopped on TF2 for a bit and did some drunk tf2'ing while I finished up all the beer I had at home. Went to sleep at 03:00 and woke up with a massive hangover and went to work. After work I went to have a drink with a colleague and that ended up with us drinking at my place until saturday 12:00. After that I met with my best friend with whom I would go to a huge party in the middle of nowhere. We met on a terrace and it was rainy as fuck which made us fret about the party as that was outdoor. I had bought 3 tickets for me and 2 girls that went with us but when I gave them it turned out that one of the girls stopped drinking and didn't want to go... So to get her with us, we made a deal.... I would also not drink so that she wouldn't be the only one. Then we embarked for a 2 hour trip to the party. The train ride was weird as the second leg of the journey some morons walked by us looking for a toilet and started pissing in a corner when they didn't find one... *sigh* Outside that incident the trip was fairly uneventful. When we came to the place the buses to the party went from we saw the entire station full with party-goers so we opted to sit at a local bar and let it get more quiet. When we tried to get on a bus some people offered us a lift for about the same price as the bus would be so we took that. This was a great choice, we could smoke in the car, loud music was being played... Everything that put us into the mood for the party was there. When we got dropped off we got into this huge line and it took about 45 mins to finally get in from there... Then came what we thought would be the worst part: The searching... Luckily we could just walk past this and not be searched at all... Finally we where in the rave. The location was stunning... It was a forest area with hills on most sides and a beautiful lake. There where tents/stages everywhere with a lot of the harder dance music styles... The main stage was built over the lake while every other stage had its own theme which felt like every stage was part of a different party. A few of the music styles representing there where: New Skool Hardcore, Old Skool Hardcore, Terror, Goa and Hard Techno. Granted these where not my favourite styles but because I came there with a nice group and it was the best music these genres have to offer I enjoyed it quite a bit anyway... The security wasn't too strict, of about 30k people only 33 people got arrested for drugs. (Even though at least 80% of the party was on something in my opinion) The funniest part was that my friend her lip piercing fell out and she was hovering above a mirror for 10 minutes and it looked quite a lot like she was trying to snort something. 6 security guards came out of nowhere and walked to her... When they finally noticed that she was trying to fix her piercing they walked away as fast as possible while being laughed at by the entire crowd. When that was over we saw a huge flame reaching over the trees, this was the awesome pyrotechnics show shown in this picture: Those flames reached 20M high and even though we where 40M far from them we still felt the scorching heat coming from them. After many hours of dancing, talking and having fun the party ended at about 07:00 and we went to found our way home. This took us about 2 hours without any weird incidents. When we where finally back in Amsterdam, it was gorgeous weather and we went to sit on a terrace. After just sitting there we went to a friends house for an afterparty where I stayed until 01:30 monday morning only to come home and crash at 02:00. I woke up on monday 09:00 to go to work and I was very bloody tired... It was worth it though. Wicked celebration was wicked... Re: The Celebration of My Victory was AWESOME! - fyre - 07-09-2008 I dunno what to say. It sounds like you enjoyed yourself. Re: The Celebration of My Victory was AWESOME! - Surf314 - 07-09-2008 There's this rave they have in Miami I went to once or twice called Ultra that is pretty intense. Usually they have world class acts from around the country. Lately they seem to be watering it down with music that doesn't jive with techno, but it's an all day thing. If you like that sort of thing I'd recommend it, people come from all over to go. Re: The Celebration of My Victory was AWESOME! - IdiotWithGuns - 07-09-2008 F that, i rather deal with the pipes at my aunts house again. Re: The Celebration of My Victory was AWESOME! - Eschatos - 07-09-2008 I want to immigrate to the Netherlands. It sounds like the best place ever. Re: The Celebration of My Victory was AWESOME! - NiceGuy - 07-09-2008 That story sounded like a setup to one of those vampire feeding scenes out of a movie.. Y'know, they get a bunch of ravers out in the middle of nowhere in the woods and feast on all the unsuspecting victims while they're too drunk/high to realize what's going on before it's too late. I'm glad to see you weren't attacked by vampires and you had a good time ;D Re: The Celebration of My Victory was AWESOME! - Surf314 - 07-09-2008 (07-09-2008, 09:23 AM)NiceGuy link Wrote: That story sounded like a setup to one of those vampire feeding scenes out of a movie.. Don't lie, you are disappointed. Admit it you wanted to not only have proof of Vampire's existence but to be able to say you know one over the innernets. [/quote] I hate almost all techno, hardcore, house, noise music, etc etc etc. Also, you agreed to hang out with ladies and promised not to drink. And I refuse to dance if I'm not wasted. So given your conditions, your party doesn't sound like fun at all. Re: The Celebration of My Victory was AWESOME! - Neonie - 07-09-2008 I love techno, however, I HATE partys, people, and smokeing or drugs. So I feel I probably would of had a pretty bad time xD Re: The Celebration of My Victory was AWESOME! - Budr - 07-09-2008 (07-09-2008, 10:08 AM)CopulatingDuck link Wrote: And I refuse to dance if I'm not wasted.
