I wouldn't normally do this but I could use your help - Surf314 - 07-30-2008 Oh who am I kidding I would normally do this, just not as often as some other people. I need to get a birthday present for my dad. I'll be leaving in about 1-2 hours to go looking. The thing is I don't have a lot of money and he is insanely hard to shop for. He's a beach nut, just got into technology through apple and has an iphone. He's also big into wine, and just moved into a new house. So those are the areas I'm currently considering. Anyone know of a good gift that won't break the bank? Re: I wouldn't normally do this but I could use your help - NiceGuy - 07-30-2008 Buy him an iTunes gift card. He can use it to buy apps or music for his iPhone. Easy ;D Re: I wouldn't normally do this but I could use your help - Surf314 - 07-30-2008 (07-30-2008, 09:55 AM)NiceGuy link Wrote: Buy him an iTunes gift card. Re: I wouldn't normally do this but I could use your help - Eschatos - 07-30-2008 I'm terrible at getting presents. 90% of the time I just give up and get a gift card. Go with the default and buy him a tie Re: I wouldn't normally do this but I could use your help - CaffeinePowered - 07-30-2008 Go to your local specialty liquor store, give them your price range, tell them what kinds of wine your dad likes and buy him some. This is my backup, we have a good wine store here, and his new house has a wine cellar. He's been trying to collect enough to mostly fill it. [/quote] Seconded, and add a nice teflon corkscrew (~15$). I like the Screwpull http://www.google.com/products?q=screwpull+teflon&btnG=Search+Products&hl=en&show=dd&scoring=p It never leaves cork bits in the bottle, and the teflon glides through so easily. Most winos I know still try to use a cheap metal corkscrew. Re: I wouldn't normally do this but I could use your help - Surf314 - 07-30-2008 I got 3 bottles of good value wine, there is a whole bunch of <$20 wine rated 90 or so apparently. Thank god we got such an awesome wine shop with such a nice owner, I was completely lost in there. Re: I wouldn't normally do this but I could use your help - hawtpawkithero - 07-30-2008 You should get your father a Re: I wouldn't normally do this but I could use your help - cannedpeahes - 07-30-2008 If only they had a portable vineyard app for iPhone.
