Matt Damon for President! - Tragic Hero - 09-19-2008

Ok so I know we all kind of frown upon going into political discussions here in a game forum but I thought this was quite interesting.

It's pretty much Matt Damon going on a rant about how terrible it will be if Sarah Palin ends up being our Vice President.

To me, it would be bad enough if McCain wins but like Matt Damon says in the video if McCain doesn't survive his first term and we are stuck with the "Hockey Mom" from Alaska leading the nation just makes things a whole lot worse.

Matt Damon's a pretty smart guy. He wrote the screenplay to Good Will Hunting. Give him some credit.

I think he's spot-on here.

He also went to Harvard I believe so that should add a bit more credit to him.

I don't give anyone who attends Harvard any credit, unless it's their graduate programs. Their undergrad classes are a fucking joke. I think it stems from when they would just hand out A's to students to keep them in school away from the clutches of the draft, and the professors are jut so old they didn't realize the war is over.  :Smile

For those of you who approve of Matt Damon's message, and also like to read large swaths of text (what, 2 of you?), I found this to be a good read: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/9/21/9322/74248/245/602838

As funny as it would be that is the last thing our country needs though.  To vote for a TV talk show host for President.  I could see the whole world laughing at us more than they do because of that.

Off the top of my head, I could see Stephen Colbert doing as well or better at governing than

Fred Thompson
Al Franken
Jesse "the body" Ventura
Ronald Reagan
Sonny Bono
Arnold Schwarzenegger

Then again, that's really not a high bar.
