In soviet Russia video games ragequit YOU! - HuckBerryGee - 09-20-2008

ok, so my graphics card died on me, which means that I'm back to the stoneage and I get as much playtime on my ps3 and wii as Gabe Newell gets to touch his toes.
So, tomorrow, I'll be investigating a new computer for 700$ tops. No way that I'm repairing it, as it's an agp motherboard and further modifications will be futile. my card was a bfg geforce 7800 GS OC(thing should be lifetime warranty though if they'd switch it for a nice slick new pci-e model I wouldn't mind).
I'd build the thing myself, but it's only been 30 minutes since the thing's gone and I already have this strange urge to hurt people.

leave your words of encouragement or share your broken techno hearts stories here.

I don't know if I can make it before the sun goes up(this also means a disturbance in the fap), wish me luck(currently typing from office computer)

Typing from an office computer at an hour like this? What kind of job do you have? Those are my kind of hours. Big Grin

If I had money, I'd pay you for the scrap of your old computer after you built a new one. As well as the 7800 if you RMAed it and got another AGP one. Tongue

But otherwise, I wish you the best of luck in getting the new parts.

Actually, shit, see if you can get one of the techs at your workplace to locate or dig up a cheapo AGP card for you to stuff in temporarily. An old Riva TNT2 is better than nothing.

They will replace the video card for free, they replaced my 6600GT.  But yeah, if it's an AGP board may aswell get to building a new setup sometime.  Still should get the card replaced though, can keep the old system as a spare or give it to someone or sell it or something.

yeah I made a baaaad! bad mistake. I threw my receipt away, so no can do right now and i remember when i threw it away too i was wonderring what cost me 450$  and was named bfg tech. GAH!I also think the motherboard is fucked since i changed the card for an old tnt2 and when i try to start it up, it doesn't make the *beep* of pc aknowledgement it however makes several *beeps* of misunderstanding consecutively.

I'm going try and figure out if the graphics card still works and if it does I might consider giving it to one of you unlucky hamster cage owners.so I decided to not mess with the puck and bought a new computer. it should be ready by sunday. it would have probably been faster had I built it myself. Saves me trouble though, cause I'm upset of being computerless and only  now am I truly aware of my addiction to computers..

I've used this site before to determine what different patterns/lengths of beeps mean.

It was my understanding that the warranty is done by serial number directly to the manufacturer, so no need for a receipt.

I bought my video card off of e-bay and didn't have shit for a receipt.  They'll still replace it.
