Being that the copyright for sound recording of that song is owned by interscope, it was probably them that filed the complaint. Most musicians don't own the copyrights to their recordings. Labels do. :'(

In any case, if 300 medics was considered a parody then it falls under fair use and is perfectly legal. However, the movie 300 was the subject of the parody, and not the song. This is a great video on the subject of copyright.
