Today - BoBoTheBum - 10-14-2008

in my High School, six live bullets were found in the hallway.

The school was put on Lockdown: Code Red (Sounds like a C grade horror movie's third sequel) and we were all stuck in whatever rooms we were in at the time.

I was in Phys Ed, and so was ushered into the locker room.

For three and a half hours, as the police searched everyone with drug sniffing dogs and patdowns.

They found nothing.

Therefore, there's a gunner loose at my school, basically.

I had a similar situation in my high school but at least the kid didn't remain on the loose.

This kid (kind of emo) was threatening to blow up the school and this kids house.  Everyone thought he was just being "Emo" until someone went into his locker and found plans and directions on how to make explosives in his locker.  And if I remember there was some parts of a possible bomb in there too.

Kind of scary...

OMG!
Your state better legalise guns in schools NOW or everyone will get shot!
Quick, get the right to protect yourself!

That said, there was a shootout at my school years ago...
Some guy decided that girls should not be allowed in a engineering university so... he shot some (14 I think)

So... yeah I speak badly of that kind of things and sometimes as if it's the Americans fault, but that happens here too...
I still hate the USA

Re: Today - Riosan - 10-15-2008

They never found a gun in my school, and IIRC, there's never been any shootings, but they found a condom once in the girl's locker room, which made a little controversy.

Worst overreaction ever: when I was in 12th Grade (trans: Grade 12), we had a routine lockdown in the wake of Virginia Tech. Just a test, seeing how prepared teachers, faculty, and students were to react to a crisis like what happened at VT. Unfortunately, the school forgot to adequately warn faculty of the situation, and in turn, the faculty misinformed their students, who believed a real gunman was loose in the school.

Kids began calling their parents, who showed up roaming the halls - yes, the halls with the "gunman" - looking for their sons and daughters. Some parent, before coming to school in douchebag mode, called the local news, who showed up with two vans and a helicopter, and broadcast to the entire state of North Carolina that "it is believed a 15-year-old gunman named Chris Locklear is in the halls with an AR15 assault rifle and a Colt 1911 .45 pistol".

There was no gunman.

Why do I live in the south?

Agh....the same thing happened to me. WHEN I WAS IN SECOND GRADE.

Re: Today - Surf314 - 10-15-2008

When I was in HS 2 guys robbed a bank and ditched their car at our school and ran across campus to try and escape.  They locked down the entire school for most of the day and held us a couple hours after school was over.

Here's the funny parts of the story:

Both guys went into the bank to rob it.  They quickly caught both guys who were running away.  They reason why we were locked down so long was because they thought for sure they had a driver, I mean who heard of a bank robbery without a driver?  Apparently not the cops handling this.

For some reason they never thought to tell anyone why the school was locked down.  The robber's van was parked right outside the chemistry class I was in.  Being a chemistry class of course someone pointed out maybe it was a bomb.  The teacher was like there is no way it's a bomb......well everyone move away from the windows just in case.  We spent the whole day hanging out in the front of the classroom.
