Ehhh, I'm slowly becoming a PC kinda guy, I dunno why. The thing is my PC's not good enough to handle a lot of games, a lot of them just take up too much space. So I gotta pick and choose until I can scrape up the cash for a new PC.

But I'm from Maine, good ol' New England kid. Not in college just yet but I was thinking about being an English teacher. I don't really want to be, but y'know.

Fun fact: it's actually from a musical I helped out with during the summer. I was a spotlight operator for summer stock with a guy I knew, so I had to watch Beauty and the Beast and Thoroughly Modern Millie until I threw up. But the guy Millie's wooing is her boss, Trevor Graydon The Third. Yep.

If you're in high school and planning to try to teach English even though it's not really your cup of nicedick, take a look around and see if you can find scholarships that'll pay you to study, then teach on a repayment schedule, like: hey, we'll give you $30,000 if you agree to teach for four years after you graduate. You do not want to pay real money to get into education. Myself, I got North Carolina's version of it, the Teaching Fellows. Many states with shortages of educators have the same types of programs. Major in English, maybe with a concentration in Education. As long as that qualifies you to teach in Maine.

At least, then, if you decide it's not for you, you have a degree that can kind of work elsewhere, and you've gotten through school almost for free.

My two cents. Also, welcome!

Oh. Damn it. See, I'm out of high school now and, for some reason, I was all "pff applying to college and applying for scholarships? NO THANKS, BUDDY I'M A REAL MAN" but now I realize I should have done that. But I should just go to school anyway. Thanks for the insight, though. Do you teach English or something else?

It's spensive.

Even more 'spensive if you have to live on-campus.

Especially if it's in another state/town.

Blah blah blah.... expensive in your country!

Weird socialism ftw! Healthcare and primary/secondary (~elementary/high) school free and further education is cheap!
That is only in my province... Ontarians have to pay a lot more, but less than Americans anyways.

Some countries even have university free.

Its alright, most of their universities are second-rate anyway. There's a reason why all of the top engineering and business schools in the world are in the US, I'll give you a hint, its because they get more money for facilities/professors.
