Well the dying at the same time isn't true. Plus you'll never see what's behind one, the acceleration would literally rip you apart before you ever got close to the center. :-)
Tough choice between aliens and the bomb, both would probably leave a lot behind in their own post-apocolyptic world, I went with aliens though.

Best religious end of the world myth ever, a giant wolf eats the moon, all of history's greatest warriors rise from their graves for one massive showdown of ultimate destiny. All the gods fight and are killed, there's a giant dragon and stuff too. Everyone goes insane there's an ocean of blood, and the two people chosen to repopulate take shelter in a giant tree.
