Obama's Cabinet - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 11-22-2008 What with the confirmation of Hillary as Secretary of State, I was wondering how everyone was feeling about the cabinet selections, since we were a hotbed of Obama support in the election. Quite frankly, I'm incredibly disappointed, and my worst fears about him were confirmed: all his talk of change would turn out to be bunk, and he would cave back into the party as soon as he got elected. I desperately hope I'm wrong, but it's looking to be just more of the same big two running the show. Despite him having no chance of being elected, at least Ron Paul seems to stick with his convictions about reform and change. Anyone else on my side, or am I just overly worried? Re: Obama's Cabinet - Vongore - 11-22-2008 Hillary is a poopy head :3 Also, selecting her as his Secretary of state was pure Fan service :<, i'm dissapointed too Re: Obama's Cabinet - ZargonX - 11-22-2008 I reserve judgment until they actually do something. Then we can see what was talk and what was action. My favorite presidents are the ones who do nothing. And yes, Obama is an establishment Democrat. It bothers me how people don't get this. Didn't the FISA thing teach people anything? Re: Obama's Cabinet - rumsfald - 11-22-2008 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAQ9gF40wvg Kroft: There are a number of different things that you could do early pertaining to executive orders. One of them is to shutdown Guantanamo Bay. Another is to change interrogation methods that are used by U.S. troops. Are those things that you plan to take early action on? Obama: Yes. I have said repeatedly that I intend to close Guantanamo, and I will follow through on that. I have said repeatedly that America doesnât torture. And Iâm gonna make sure that we donât torture. Those are part and parcel of an effort to regain Americaâs moral stature in the world. I, for one, am delighted to have a president who can answer questions like these swiftly and decisively. And delighted that he talks to the public like grown-ups. After the last 8 years, I don't consider that "just more of the same." Re: Obama's Cabinet - Surf314 - 11-22-2008 I want him to put in some really great moderate republican(s) as a show of unity. I know there are some good candidates including that one dude he worked with on the nuclear proliferation stuff. Plus it'd be a boon to the decent wing of the republican part. Unfortunately they are the ones suffering now as they get the bad publicity but don't have the support of the so called base. Re: Obama's Cabinet - Tragic Hero - 11-23-2008 You make a good point about Obama just going back to older ways rather than promoting "Change" but I am a big fan of the Clinton's and the Clinton administration. So I am happy with it Re: Obama's Cabinet - Dave - 11-23-2008 (11-23-2008, 04:29 PM)Vandamguy link Wrote: [quote author=fyre link=topic=1831.msg51000#msg51000 date=1227447789] Oh shit. Re: Obama's Cabinet - cannedpeahes - 11-23-2008 Doesn't really bother me. Elections are about making the best (reasonable) choice you can, and I think we did. They've all got to work inside the establishment: it's where their campaign comes from. Some of them just do a better job of doing that and keeping the rest of America in mind. Re: Obama's Cabinet - Benito Mussolini - 11-23-2008 Obama who? Um, hasn't there been a candidate in almost every election that has campaigned on "change"? Re: Obama's Cabinet - Vongore - 11-23-2008 CHAAAAANGE?! |
