I wonder how the cost of living compares to the US. It sounds like a pretty cool place to live actually.

Re: Poor Ain... - Vandamguy - 12-06-2008

from the sounds of the article they're only going to shut down the scummy shops that you would have avoided anyways.

Yah it's mostly a cleanup... The funny part is that the dutch have the lowest marijuana use of the entire western world and most natives don't go to whores. I never want to go there and I quit weed many years ago...

Also, Amsterdam said fuck you against the national shroom ban and shrooms are still legal in this city. Smile

I might not do all these things but I'm proud that they are legal here... It's a more sane policy imho.

Thats pretty funny. It seems that people do the stuff they do because they shouldn't. Once they can just freely do it, it loses all meaning and they don't.

I wouldn't say that exactly but it does lose the charm/thrill of doing something illegal... I would say many people have tried it but quit when they got bored with it...

When it gets decriminalized it destroys the black market and the crime that surrounds it. It also loses some of its mystique cause you aren't "sticking it to the man" anymore. When you can do something freely moderation is more likely to follow.
