Diplomacy: Will anyone dare? - chronomaster - 12-18-2008

Since chess is going so well these days, how about a game of Diplomacy? I'm going to make this my first time playing in this historic game, and would like to invite six others into joining me. For those who need a backstory, head to the Diplomacy Wikipedia page and read up.

If you're in, we're playing at phpDiplomacy unless we have a better location to play at.

EDIT: How could I forget? Dox are here.

The new AH rulebook is prettier though. Get it here.

Pfffff. Whatever the game, I'll kick your butt. I don't even need to read the rules.

Edit: Wrong place to put this thread, it would look better in [url=http://www.brbuninstalling.com/forum/index.php?board=3.0]Big Boys.

It's not really a PC game though.

I'm following Ianki on this one.

I wish people would stop making threads about games they clearly play enough to wipe the floor with all of us at, and would instead suggest something that would be FUN to play because we're all on the same damn level (Monopoly kthnx).

Monopoly has no choice factor. You roll dice, you land on a property, you buy it if it's there/if you can, you pass turn.

I did say this was my first time at Diplomacy. I just read the rules. I understand the theories, yes, but by nature, not by skill in the game itself.

Re: Diplomacy: Will anyone dare? - Versus - 12-18-2008

Interesting. I'm in. Name is Versus.

I'll prolly be in.  I don't mind losing if its fun.  I'm 0-5 in chess right now.

I missed that single line, MAH BEE. Also I was using Monopoly as an example because you can't really be way better than someone at it, even if you've played it for TEN THOUSAND YEARS and someone is playing for the first time.

Played it once, hated it for the people, though I can see this being a fun game with the right crowd. I might join if I'm bored enough. =)
