Peer Guardian question - Surf314 - 03-03-2009 Since I've installed it and turned it on it's been blocking a lot of stuff in OSX. Weird stuff too. P2P stuff when I'm not on transmission and stuff when I'm idling. Mostly from panasonic systems solutions and bogon or something. Is this normal? Do random computers really try to connect to yours no matter what you are doing? Re: Peer Guardian question - Blues - 03-03-2009 Like 75% of extra software that comes with products reports computer usage statistics/hardware reports/etc. back to the company that makes it. This is why I generally install drivers and nothing extra. Also, generally if you have a P2P program on you're going to get/send traffic to somewhere, regardless of whether you're actually sending or not, being that you have to update your sharing/etc. status for it to know when you have stuff available to share. Re: Peer Guardian question - Surf314 - 03-03-2009 Yea it wasn't even open and I was geting P2P blocked ranges. |
