going to californication-a - Versus - 03-12-2009

I'm flying into LA on Sunday, probably going to san luis obispo the same day, spending two nights there, then coming back to LA for a few days.

om nom nom in-n-out

In-N-Out is highly over-rated, its good, but don't go there expecting to have the best fast food burger in the world. You'll just end up sorely disappointed.

You'd be better served going to the most hole in the wall Mexican place you can find

Checking another place off the list?  When you making it to Florida?

Re: going to californication-a - fyre - 03-12-2009

Have fun. I can't wait till I can afford to live in SF. Also...speaking of burger places, ever try Steak n Shake?

In'n'Out obviously isn't the "best" burger in the world, but for price->quality ratio for a place with more than a couple stores... it is.

Re: going to californication-a - Vongore - 03-12-2009

I'm there

Re: going to californication-a - Versus - 03-12-2009

white castle tastes like tiny mcdonald's burgers

Re: going to californication-a - Tragic Hero - 03-12-2009

But you get almost a suit case full of them for about 10 dollars.

Re: going to californication-a - Versus - 03-12-2009

true, but I'd rather eat a larger burger...I'd probably choose White Castle over BK, McDonald's, etc....but still.

Re: going to californication-a - Squishy3 - 03-13-2009

and yet no fast food burgers beat home-made ones, where you can make them as big or as litttle as you want

I thought that was a given though.

My Burger cooking protip:  Mix up the meat with a packet of onion soup mix and an egg before you make the patties.

Things I've tried that work are mixing the meat with Worcestershire and adobo, and putting a pit of butter in the middle of each patty to keep them moist and tender.
